My generation, English education has started in Junior high school
Japanese School starts April. The grade starts in April and ends in March. When become grade 7, we have started to study in Junior high school. Then we start to study English.

Now, In Japan, English classes become a requirement from upper elementary grades. In grade 4.
The education system in Japan is very superb, I think. All people can read, write and speak well. But English is not so good. Many people had educated English for many years, but cannot speak well. We can read and understand, but cannot speak. It is called that this was caused Japanese character.
We Japanese are agricultural people
It is said that Japanese are agriculture race. Japanese were always face down and worked hard so this character was made by. I think this is right in a sense. We are not cheerful but serious.
It is difficult to change character, so we think that
It is difficult to change our Japanese character. Sometime we envy foreigners. But it is not good to envy for. We are Japanese so we are going to living as a Japanese be proud in. This is Japanese character cannot speak English well. This is OK.
